This week in maniakalani we created our own fake news using unsplash for the photos and google drawing. I found it challenging to make it look like an official tiktok account. I loved finding photos. Next time we would add more details to make it look more official. Make sure not to get fooled by these types of accounts on social media (people can buy followers and likes). And they are most likely a scam.

Jumping in the sunset

Kia ora this is my game. I am reflecting on my game. I made this game at Tonui Collab using Makecode arcade. The thing I enjoyed most while creating this was the challenge to make sure everything worked properly. Something I didn't like was that I wasn't able to finish it; and also you can't die or win. But, I did enjoy the experience. Thank you so much Tonui, Mr Huhu and Mrs Walters.

Scratch Game:

Here is my scratch game to help people learn a few words in Maori.
 I enjoyed creating this with the base of code already done. 
One thing I found hard was trying to find the actual project on scratch.
 I hope everyone will learn something from this.

My Lockdown Essay

Covid-19, a deadly virus. On the 31st of December 2019 at the wet markets in Wuhan, China; a innocent person took the fearful task of eating a BAT.... Little did s/he know that the bat they just ate had a world pandemic in the making! Now over 3 million people are infected with this virus globally. And guess what?! The USA have 1/3 of the globe's cases with 1,010,356 cases today!, they are losing people fast! 56,796 people so far in the US have passed! Globally 217,968 people have passed. On the bright side 955,695 people have recovered worldwide. The curve is flattening and there are signs of hope.

My first reason why I think lockdown is working: Case numbers are going down fast In NZ; we have had 15 days with single digits; 1,479 Confirmed and Probable cases in New Zealand & 1,252 recoved; which means that only 227 active cases.

Another reason why I think lockdown is working is the effect on the Earth, since most companies that produce Greenhouse gasses have closed; the Ozone layer that was damaged is now repairing faster than ever before.

And last but, not least we are all able to bond with our families since we aren't allowed out unless buying essential items (essential items meaning A Big Mac and some chips).

In conclusion, Covid 19/ SARS-CoV-9/Coronavirus is not exactly the world Pandemic we were all hoping for. I mean It would be alot better if you could catch the skittle pox; you know the ones (taste the rainbow). But, with a country like New Zealand and a Prime Minister like Jacinda Ardern I think that we will get through this with 'a team five of million'. Kiwis are New Zealanders and we will never ever give up. We are all in this together.

Google Hangout call

For Manaiakalani today used a website called Wevideo and screencastify to create a google hangout looking video. I really enjoyed making this it was challenging and fun at the same time! Next time I want to make it a bit longer and make each person say more. Overall, I am pretty proud of the finished product.

Anzac Slideshow

In Hub Mako we are doing a lot of research about the ANZAC'S and the world wars. I created this slideshow about WW1. I strongly think that every kid my age should know about our History so we don't repeat it. I feel very grateful to be living in a country like New Zealand with so many women's rights and being able to vote for our government when we are 18 years old.

Blog TOUR!!!!

Kia Ora, here is my blog tour that I made using screencastify. I am very happy with how it turned out. Next time want to make my music in the background longer so I can show a few more things. I really enjoyed making the music for the background but, I really want to add more personality to my blog.

ANZAC Background

This is my ANZAC backdrop. I created this artwork on a website called Canvas. I really enjoyed doing the blending of the sunset; but, trying to get that Cross straight was a nightmare! Next time I would like to add some more detail to my artwork. Overall I am pretty happy with how it turned out.

This is my animation that I did about the ANZAC'S. I really enjoyed doing this, because I am pretty familiar with google slide animations. Next time I think I could add a little more information. I found it pretty easy this time but, next time want to challenge myself more.

Are you Cybersafe?

In Hub Mako we are using a site called google hangouts to talk with our teachers and classmates. We then did manaiakalani using this site and our own class site. I really proud of what i have achieved. Something I would do differently next time is create something more out of the box. I wish all you guys the best over the next few weeks. Be careful and Stay safe!!!! 

2020 Goals

I enjoyed doing this because I love making posters digital or on paper. Something I would do differently next time is maybe try polilining my face and adding a bit more of writing.

Qualites & Attitudes

In Inquiry this term we are learning about Work and leisure and what the differences are. This activity is called qualities and attitudes. I had to figure out some qualities I have and some things I need to work on. I really enjoyed doing this and would love to do it again.

 Here I am in New york. I found It quite challenging when I was trying to find the right background and taking a photo but, all turned out GREAT! Next time I want to take a better photo of myself.

RUGBY WORLD CUP

Last week on Friday the Rugby world cup started.

 The first match was between Hosts Japan VS Russia. Japan won the first match.

I learnt alot about the world cup, Japan, Australia and the Webb Ellis Cup.

Next time I would like to write a bit tidier.

Problem Solving:

I really enjoyed working on this problem with my group. I did find it a bit challenging at the start because I got a bit tangled and went in the opposite direction but, we got there in the end. Next time, I know that working it out using the money into hours strategy is a lot easier.
